A devotee returning after having darshan of Mata from Someshwar mountain of Ramnagar block of West Champaran district of Bihar suddenly decided to take a bath. But he died due to drowning while bathing. After this there was chaos on the spot.

Actually, the young man was returning after visiting Someshwar Mata. Then he felt like taking a bath and started taking bath. During this, the young man’s foot slipped and he went into deep water. By the time people could save him, he went into deeper water, due to which he died. The incident happened on Monday evening. The deceased youth has been identified as Deepu Kumar (25), resident of Bettiah Cantonment. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.

According to the information, the young man was returning after having darshan of Maa Kalika at Someshwar hill on Monday evening. During this time he started bathing in a lake located near Perevadah. But while bathing his foot slipped and he fell. Due to the fall, his head hit a stone, due to which he died on the spot. He was pulled out of the water with the help of other passengers.

Here, Govardhana police station incharge Anil Kumar said that the body is being taken into custody and is being sent to the hospital for post-mortem process. At the same time, Someshwar Seva Samiti member Gajanan Soni has also confirmed the incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, SSB reached the spot and took the body into its custody. The SSB jawans on duty informed the Govardhana police about this, after which the Govardhana police reached the spot of the dead body.

It is worth noting that a large number of devotees are climbing the mountain every day with the desire to visit all the places of archaeological, historical and cultural importance like Bharthari Kuti, Nachan Chudiya Pahad and Vatash Chaura etc. including Mata Kalika sitting on Someshwar mountain peak. This mountain peak on the Nepal border in India, which is usually deserted, becomes buzzing with devotees during Chaitra Navratri. But due to this incident on Monday evening, the atmosphere here became sad.
